Headunit repair

bought a 70s blaupunkt munster headunit a while back, had it working then one day i accidentally connected the live and earth to the wrong terminals (major facepalm) which produced some smoke and it hasnt worked since, could this be an easy fix or will it be totally goosed? any help appreciated 

have to open it and see, not something we can diagnose over the internet

fair enough i will open it up and put a pic up in a couple of days, got the daily to sort out first

Hopefully just the voltage regulator, where are you based? Might be a local repair firm that can quote for you.
