Fitting MK2 Windshield washer tank onto an 88 MK1

It appears that the previous owner went full retard and removed the windshield washer tank… I went to the junkyard today and got one from an MK2.

The question is… I know it won't physically fit perfectly, but will the electronic components (pump etc.) match to MK1?

I'm providing some links to the pictures so you guys can help me out

Also, I have found more loose wires "hangin" out in the engine bay…  Pictures provided as well.

Any information will be greatly appreciated

the washer pump is the same fitment, also same plug too. the plug you have circled isnt for the washer pump in an 88 cabrio

look for a plug the same as the mk2 pump, with green/red and brown wires. it may be on the driver or passenger side depending on what engine your car has

Thanks mate, now do you have an idea where that plug may be from?

Possibly, yes, now do you know what the round plug is for? Its in the other picture, close to the throttle body.

i dont recognise it, but the wires look liek dizzy colours so it could be for an inline ignition control unit, I know some models got them but which and exactly how they work im not sure
