Couple of spare wires!?

Post

Hi all, hopefully someone can help,

I have a couple of spare wires that I am unsure where they go on the fuse board. I have looked in my haynes manual to no avail.

Here goes….

I have a wire from the rad thermo switch, it is white/yellow but I am not sure if it should be this colour as the loom was already modified when I got the car.

Also from the handbrake there is a wire which runs to the fuseboard then plugs into a connector which has 2 wires coming from it, a white/green and the one I am unsure of which is blue/grey, this wire has a female barrel and looks to have pulled out of one of the fuse board pug connectors.

Thanks in advance :)

with the rad fan you only need the live input to switch, then 1 or 2 wires from it straight to rad fan./ the extra wire could be part of rad fan after-run if engine is carb or g60, either way dont worry about it if it goes nowhere

for the handbrake does the light on the dash work? the pin you mention may come from A/15 which is fluid level warning

Hi rubjonny, thanks for that.

Where does the rad wire connect onto the fuse board?

I need to check the brake light.

Also how do I access the wiring diagrams in your sig and which one would I need for my s2 82 gti?

Thanks Jimi

rad fan on ceramic fusebox comes from G/6, you should also have a loop of wire between H and G/1 to power up the rad fan fuse #15.

for my sig you need to sign into gmail/google tplus use a windows or android device as apple products dont like it. the diagram you want is g1wiring81gti.pdf :)

I can view them now, just what I was after!

Will be tackling this at the weekend with help from a mate.

Thanks very much for that :)
