Can someone give me feedback on this wiring diagram (for console gauge lights)?

I am partway through connecting them and am now working on the back lights. Before I start snipping wires I wanted to run this idea past people here.
In summary I am thinking about:
- Splicing console lights to dashboard lights wiring from fusebox (doing this from here as wires are accessible and easy to find)
- Add a relay to console lights wiring
- Connect relay to heater/fan controls back light so that console lights will only turn on when instrument lights are on.
Any feedback is very much welcome!

The relay won't be needed because the instrument lights won't be that massive a current draw. Also, it won't work with the dimmer - if you connect them directly then the aftermarket gauge illumination will also dim with the dash lights.

Just connect direct onto the brown for earth and blue-grey for +ve lights. Take from cigarette lighter, it's easier to work with.
The lights are the easy part. Just test the power first, but you only have three wires at the cigarette lighter, permanent feed, earth and illumination.
If you change to the LED equivalent, the dimming facility may be lost, but i've trully never dimmed the lights on any car I've ever owned. (especially out of direct eye line)

for voltage look at the G spades, 2 and 5 are coil live so more useful to measure as it shows the voltage on the coil ignition rail in the fusebox

edit: Look at A/1, if theres a grey/blue wire here you can get your dash illumination from G spade 8
