Currently have a manual roof on my 87 clipper, weighing up various options as it has 2 splits in it at parallel points. Anyway i'm deliberating whether to take this off completely and stick it on my best mates clipper as that roof is fubard and it'll do her a turn and have the mohair power hood i have in my possession wired in and all the associated gubbins which i have. The hood and bits are from a 92 car…is this a viable option and will anyone do this for me(obviously a paid job by someone appropriate lol) or am i gonna be better off just having a new skin put on mine?

Whilst i like the idea of a power hood i can't help but think it's something else to go wrong! All thoughts and opinions welcomed :)

You need the brackets and mountings fitted to the shell as well as the wiring.

Probably better to get yours recoved and flog the eleccy one.

are the brackets etc welded to the bodywork in factory? anyone got a pic of what they look like. himself removed all the stuff he could from the donor car but dunno if we'd have these, got the loom n everything otherwise

Yep they are welded to the shell. If the shell has now need scrapped you'll need to fabricate something.

Below shows the mountings. Parts 8, 14 and 16 are welded to the shell.
