Upholstery refurb

Post

I am getting my seats re-upholstered in my cabriolet and was wondering what is the best option? If I want to sell it on in the future is it best to keep everything original and get it re-upholstered in the same material? Will this add to the value of the car or does it not make any difference if I want to get the seats done in leather or some other material? Just want to get this right before I choose the material and spend any money on it as I want to know whether my choice will affect the value of the car. Cheers

If your cabby is an original, completely standard, mint one then I'd say keep it that way. Otherwise I think it will make no difference.

The only things to bear in mind if you spent a fortune on a fancy leather interior you wont get your money back if you sell and if it's very unique (like flamingo pink, but I'm sure you wont do that!   ) then it will make it harder to sell.

Otherwise, just go for whatever you fancy ;) If you go leather and it matches the colour of the car and rest of interior then it should look good.

What are you thinking of so far scotiusmaximus ?

Cheers man. Its got the original hounds tooth cloth material I think it is, you know the black and white squares but it's really grubby and scratched up. The seat bolsters are also shot to pieces so want to re-do the whole interior.

Was either gonna just get the same material but brand new or was thinking of just plain black interior (either leather or cloth, depending on price!!!) with some stitching pattern.

Want to get carpet and door cards done as well so just thinking about what would be best in terms of if I wanted to sell the car in future.

I think you can get that material still, at least very similar.

If you become a paid member you'll also be eligible for 10% discount with Newton Commercial who do the door cards and carpet sets ;)
