Corrado seats in Mk1 cabby?

Post

Hi
This has probably been posted a hundred times before but here goes again
I'm looking for an interior for my '84 cabriolet I have a couple of options. one is seats from a corrado

Is it a lot of work to get the rear to fit?

Second question is getting bolster/ cloth repaired costly? The ones I've found (reasonably priced) are all worn

rear seats will take a lot of effort to fit, main thing is they are a bit tall. it has been done however

If there's not much wrong with your seats just but some new covers.
It'll mean stripping the old cloth off but it's doable.
Plenty done that before and it's lauds cheaper than a retrim.
By the time you've bought seats from something else, modded them and found material to repair it's cheaper and quicker to go that route.
You can still get foam seat bases to refurb the seats.
I did a how to guide.
Google seat refurb and find the one by chortle.
The name of the company was auto leathers they did a leather kit at a really keen price at one point and if I recall supply the stuff to recover your door cards.
Which you could use the old ones as a template then copy out of marine ply that won't wrap or rot.

Corrado seats in Mk1 cabby?

Currently I don't have much of an interior
I see someone has posted seats for sale from a tin top… I'm guessing these are the same as the cabby?

yes/no

There were a lot  styles of seat.
Flat Seat/Back Vinyl
Flat seat/back velour/vinyl
flat seat /back  cloth/vinyl
Sports seat all vinyl
Sports seat vinyl/cloth
Recarro  all colors and materials

So just saying tin top, well that depends

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

No, afraid not

Do it once and do it right! ok, we've identified the problem, lets not make it worse by guessing……… Identifying the sympton is not the same as understanding the cause :)

fronts fit, though post-84 cabrio seats have the slider handles on the opposite side. soem seats are easy to swap over, some are not depends where the height adjust handle is.

the tintop rear seats wont go as they're too wide, the cab is narrower back there to allow for all the hood gubbins

probably easier to find a semi-decent cab interior to mk1 though, as they made em right up to 92 so more about
