Golf MK1 Stoneguard for rear arches

Hi guys,

I'm looking to restore a MK1 golf and have started with some bodywork and a respray. I've been looking into stoneguard options, and I'm considering either clear or black vinyl stoneguards, instead of the factory plastic ones which I find to be a bit ugly.
What is the consensus? Paint job is white, I'm thinking black matt stoneguards, a bit reminiscent of the old school 911s.

I'm after some for my driver can not find them any where no one on here make them?

Stick with the originals is my advice but each to their own I suppose!

They can be found on ebay and I'm sure if you google this forum, you'll find links to several companies who do good repro's!  

What is wrong with the original ones?
