Throttle cable

this was holding my cable to the pedal, any advise on what should be there, Bodged a little grommet in there for the minute. Any advise would be grand 

Mine is currently held on with a cable tie and has been for 11 years. I've no idea what should be there, when I got the car it was just resting in the loop and came off one day which is when I applied the "temporary" cable tie fix.  

A rubber bobbin sits in the pedal that the cable goes through. I think mk2 ones fit and are still available from vw

as above, new mk1 items are rubber but about 3 times more expensive than the mk2 part which is almost exactly the same

I ordered one it was 3quid on eBay.
