Sticker Removal - Last owner put stickers on cabriolet rear windscreen

Post

Does anyone know how to remove stickers from the rear windscreen of a cabriolet? Looks like it's been there years and even the last owner seems to have tried to start peeling it off, but must have realised he was going to leave a worse mark than just leaving the sticker.

So………any idea, the best way to remove this, without getting left with a mark!

Hair drier, razor blade and some Auto Glym tar remover to get the glue off.

Works every time.

I use a wallpaper scraper, hairdrier and plenty of patience. Petrol can be good at removing the sticky residue, but it depends on what the sticker was made from. Washing powder dissolved in warm water can also remove it quite well as it's a very good cleaning agent.

Use a hairdryer to get the sticker off and then you can either use the things other people have recommended or use neat screenwash to remove any residue.

As dan said, auto gleam tar remover is great stuff, should get rid of any residue, I also think rubbing olive oil into stickers softens them up I think, read it somewhere, wallpaper steamer as well ……

if its a dealer sticker it may be worth taking a few pictures first, there might be someone somewhere needing an image to have it reproduced :)

I have just taken some old Alarm stickers off my car that have been on for 25yrs.  Warmed up with hair dryer then WD40 to take the residue off.

I'm gonna give autoglym tar remover a go as this worked wonders on removing the sticky residue from old roof seals.

Might give it a go tomorrow. It's a brighton sticker of some sort, not related to the car in any way so not sure what it's for to be honest but looks stupid.

Quick blast with the hairdrier and using an ice scraper worked a treat!! Hardly left any residue and so a simple wipe clean with window cleaner a couple of times removed anything left over. Looks ten times better!

Cheers guys
