Sidelight fixing clips

Plastic clip that goes through the sidelight backplate and clips to the bumper,then a screw goes into it through the lens.Does anyone know who sells them or what theyre called so I know what I'm looking for?

indicator clips you mean?

OEM bumpers use 'speed nuts' N  0154487, 47p+VAT, they're liek the thin metal square clips which are folded over if you know what I mean.

pattern bumpers may use the plastic things you mention, not sure where you can get them but the oem speed nut things should still work?

The original plastic thingies hold the backplate in place and have a thread for the lens to screw into.I tried a speed clip but it cant be fitted in such a way as to hold the backplate in.It could be used of course but would mean you having access at the rear of the bumper.Never mind I have improvised.Thanks for the reply.

all im seeign is the speed nut, though i vaguely remember what you are talking about… maybe its only on aftermarket/hella supplied units rather than OEM VW?

the speed nut requires no access from behind you slot it over the hole and it provides the captive thread

Its hard to explain what I'm trying to say(it is for me anyway) without a pic but now its all back together I can't be arsed taking it apart again.I appreciate what youre saying about the spire clip/speed nut but of course that needs to be slid over whatever bits youre wanting to screw together.The metal flanges in the bumper that the screw passes through are pointing towards each other if you see what I mean,the corresponding ends of the sidelight backplate point away from each other,the backplate attaches from the back(the original plastic clip that I needed goes through both and fixes them together so that when you remove the lens the back doesnt drop off. Not a prob now though.Thanks for your help.

the whole assembly goes in from the front, so the lens screw holds both the backplate and lens on and screws through them both into the speed nut above when fixed to the holes in the bumper iron?

unless I'm missing something? it is the front indicators we are talking about here that fit into the front of the bumper on a eruo model?

Sorry mate youre right and I'm an idiot!I can only put it down to old age!The penny finally dropped(and then I found the 2 originals that I had put somewhere safe then lost).
