Any advice
Any advice on rust treatment & primers available, best tools for the job & suppliers would be most appreciated. Also looking at a rollover jig, there's a few on ebay but anyone make anything better.
Think I'm going to go for a rolling resto…famous last words!?

Hi I've been looking my self . I saw an article in practical
classics for http://www.rust.co.uk/ . It got some really good reviews, but have not tried them my self. Be interesting to see what other people use.

Yes probably badly worded, once the rust is cut out/sanded off, which products are best to use?
Read so many threads here & elsewhere its overload, i know someone on here had an issue with POR15 and their primer.

Have to agree, How painting some solution over the top stops it, I just don't think so.

I have used orthophosphoric acid. It eats the rust after many applications, completely removing it and passivating the remaining surface. Not to be used on cast items or high strength areas as i believe it messes with the chemical structure of the metal.

Needs to be cleaned down properly or it leaves a white residue and then paint doesnt stick very well!
And its an acid so you need to be careful!!!

Looks great for surface rust…is it safe? and better than scrubbing away with a wire brush.
I'm going to speak to specialist paint suppliers to get a better idea of products & their uses. I think Drummer on here used a rust treatment, let it dry then rubbed down and etch primed. Really dont want to spend time causing more problens later on, practising on my jeep first!
