Rear and side tension cables on cabriolet starting to show

Post

As above, cables are visible. Any dummy guides for tightening and how to get them to dissapear under the hood material?

Rear canle is sheathed and seems to be too big for the channel in particular!!

All seem tight though and roof looks ok apart from the cables showing (at rear and on one side)

1/2 open the roof and with a flat bit of wood and hammer, hammer the lip up long the bottom edge to hide the cable.

If you look at page 16 of this guide how to fit a new hood it shows you what to do.

Careful you don’t chip your paint or damage the hood.
The cable may need to be undone slightly so check what thread is left on the ends incase you need to take up any slack.
Do you have both loops of material for the hood cover?
I can only see one in the photo.
As a note the headliner at the 1/4 sail panels look to be flapping and you say you have an issue with side tension cables too.
Do you have photos of that issue.
I’m over in Derby (not sure where you’re located) if you want an experienced person to look at it for you.

Thanks all

Chortle - I’ve heard you are the go-to guy for roofa but I’m in South Wales so a bit far really!

Headliner 1/4 panel was loose and has been put back right now and clipped on the hooks

There is only one loop at the back - should there be two and what are these for?

The lip doesn’t seem to be big enough to tap the cable back in!

Do I need to look to tighten the cable as I do it and if so where do I tighten these - are the nuts easily accessibly for both rear and sides?

The loops are for the tonnaue cover that goes over the hood when down.
Hooks on the cover go through loops to keep in place.

I think I know this car.
Notts car then went to Brum.
Easy to have a chat on the phone.
I’ll message you my number.
