Mk 1 Clipper Spotlights

Same as Mk2?

Hi

I blindly bought some replacement spots for my 1989 Clipper a while ago, came to fit them this morning and they appear to be from an earlier model.....

The ones I have are stamped with 34525 R8, does anyone know what other models of golf these were fitted to, as struggling to find replacements (without spending a fortune!)

Thanks

Pete

Great stuff, they are the same as on a Mk2 Driver and they are easier to find! Thanks very much

Hi

Not got any for sale, but I recently bought a set from eBay that were from a MK2 Golf Driver £29.99 delivered. On the front of the glass you will find a set of numbers, mine were 34525 R8, but I was not aware that the brackets differ between MK1 and MK2 models :-(

MK1 spotlights are hard to come by, but some of the MK2 ones were the same part number, quick search for Golf Spotlights on eBay shows there are plenty out there.

Check with the seller that the code number on the front of the glass is the same one on the front of your glass lenses, then follow the process below if the brackets do not match when they turn up.

aircooled1968 advised me to heat them up in the oven for 10 mins and then carefully prise the glass off using a screwdriver as the heat softens the glue, then swap the glass over.

I placed them one by one into the oven at 200C for 5-10 mins and then holding them with a pair of pliers used a flat head screwdriver to ease the glass off, worked a dream if a little smelly.

I then used Marine Adhesive, which you can get from any good aquarium centre £7 to glue the new glass onto the old brackets after cleaning them up.

Took about an hour, but I ordered 2 sets from eBay and both had different brackets, so did not want to risk ordering yet another set!

Good luck

Pete
