Heater blower cover screws

Post

Hi all

Bought myself a cover for the blower fan on my 76' golf. The screws are also missing, so I wonder if anyone have a picture or know which screws are used for this cover? The threads in the chassis don't seem to accommodate regular machine screws.. Thanks cover.jpg

looks liek you have a late cover there, the parts diagram for the grille for the 76 looks pretty different and seems to have push clips:

I cant look up the part numbers right now as I dont have access to my PC which might show them in parts history. it gives you an idea at least. short term maybe a helper can hold some nuts inside the cabin for you to put a bolt into, or somethign along those lines

I looked at the ETKA, and they didn't show any screws or clips… go figure.
If you do go with screws and nuts I would suggest to use a rubber washer under a steel flat washer or screw head to seal the screw hole from water migration….

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

link seems to be dead now, but it shows what looks like push clips, but no part number as deleted a long time ago. if you right click the part number list in ETKA and click 'data history' sometimes it can show you the NLA part numbers :)

Thanks for the drawings! Looking at them I definitely have the late setup, with the large fan and the resistor on one side. The cover seems to be the same on B2 Passat's among others, so I'm gonna have a look at the local scrapyard to see if I find the correct screws. Will definitely use rubber washers, thanks for the tip
