Differences between centre consoles

Hiya,
My centre console has never fitted properly, came on the car but not original as its a 'c'.
Could someone please let me know the differences between the tin top and the cabby ones? Think ive goy a cabby one, is there any way of getting them fitting? Did a google search but there were conflicting opinions! Also how are they held on from standard? Mines just got some bodge screws through the plastic! Cheers

The tops are different, the cabby one has a flatter and i think longer top than the tin top ones do.

Thanks- appears I've got a cabby one. Explains why it always fitted badly! Guess I'll just leave the bodge job fixing until I either ditch it or get a tin top one  cheers
