Bumper protection

Post

Is there anything that can be done do give bumpers a little protection from the elements and other drivers using them as parking detectors? I was hoping to keep them shiny for a while…

When the steering wheel was first put into use in automobiles, it was called the whip. The term has now been generalised to classify any automobile.

Good coat of wax, and park well away from the crowds or curb stops.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Xpel paint protection film may be your best option and it’s removable if it gets tired, the technology now makes it pretty much invisible and many super car owners have this done on all front facing panels.

i can recommend Creative FX in Bromley, ask for Sean Davis the boss man and tell him Neil from VW sent you and he will look after you

That's an interesting option. Looks expensive though.

Any idea of the sort of costs? Bumpers are quite a complex shape.

Sorry I don’t know the costs but these guys wrap very complex Super cars so I would hope some bumpers wouldn’t pose them a problem, give them a call as I’m sure they could quote you an approx price if you send them images as it’s all about starting condition but your bumpers look tidy so shouldn’t be an issue.

I'll give them a bell tomorrow. Bumpers are fresh from a respray so I guess now would be the time.

What is Plasticoat?

Plasti-dip . but I would let the paint harden for a couple of weeks first.
