Also, on a seperate note, should the sound deadening be inatalled between the door and the door membrane? Or can i apply on the actual door card?

Sound Deadening should be applied to the inside of the Doorskin.. Carefully remove the membrane stick the Sound Deadening in place and replace the membrane. Putting it on the Door Card won't make any difference !
Ahh thought so, lol…i was hoping (and praying to hear that i could get away with the deadening on the door card!)

When you add Sound-proofing start up about 1/2 an inch from the bottom of the door. and work up to about an inch below the edges. Over lap if you have to like a shingle.
Be sure that your doors bottom is free of debris, and that your door skin pucker drains are clear….
It really doesn't take much to deaden the tinniness of the door, and usually a wide strip down the middle will stop most of the effect.
It will not stop bad scrapers and the window rattle…etc, it will make the door less prone to vibration noise from the skin not echoing. Most use Dynamat, but there are more cost effective versions out there.

The upper edge is held inplace by the inner scraper, and the leading edge is under the Vent wing seal.
I usually use a thin plastic putty knife and take great care.
