I've been offered a vr6 vento for £500 its a complete car with good running engine and after seeing another thread with the eurowise conversion kit im tempted to get it to put into my mk1 gti. So the advice in after is its an m reg vento so would this be any good and other than the engine what else would i need to take off of the vento as space is a problem for me and the car would have to be gone pretty qiuck so i wouldnt want to scrap it then find i needed something. Also what else would i need to complete the conversion as I've not done anything like this before so any advice is welcome.
Thanks
Thanks

not a lot will be any good, the engine and loom obviously, grab manifold and downpipes too but probably wont fit mk1 shell, useful as a template for custom perhaps. rear brake setup will fit, front calipers n carriers if 280s will fit with adaptors.
thats it really rest of the car is totally different. maybe clocks if you like them, if not you can make a coilpack vr drive a mk1 rev counter

Thanks that's pretty much what I thought my mk1 already has a decent brake upgrade with 4 pot brembo's on the front and disks on the back so that's sorted. Does anyone else have any experience of the eurowise kit? I'm tempted but don't want to take on to much but the vento has some nice bits so could possibly get the money back that way. Also do I use the vento gearbox

Yep it's your thread that's got me thinking about the conversion that and what I thought was a reasonably priced vr6 on my door step. I'm very tempted but I'm just trying to figure the cost of everything before I take the plunge
