Oppinions on tire size? 16" Audi Winters, R32 Engine

Hi Guys,

I'm a bit in doubt which tires to buy Can you make your oppinion on the matter and why maybe? I think my choice is between 195/40R16 or 165/45R16.

It is a question about look Vs. performance

If you have some pictures of mk1's with 16" wheels, 7" wide, it could be nice to see them?

My specs:

Car: Golf mk1 5dr
Engine: R32
Wheels: Audi winters 16" 7"wide

The car isn't painted yet, so a minor custom of the fenders would be no problem. But my concern is if the wheels will look to big on the car with 195/40 tires, and with 165/45 all the power will go up in smoke ?

What do you guys think? And please feel free to share a picture of your car(or any mk1) with 16" wheel, 7" wide.
