Recently purchased my old mk1 back after selling it 4 years ago, however the old owner has removed the engine (was a 1.3 driver with lots of issues…!) It has come with a 2l 8v AGG from a mk3 Golf that hasn't been fitted yet, does anyone have any advice? It is worth doing or should I look for a different engine to use?
Had a look everywhere online but struggling to find much info. Car has already has the right hand mount moved to fit a larger engine.
Thanks!

2ltr 8 v in a mk1 makes for a nice car, fitting is straight forward, like the standard 1.8.Need to think about how you want to fuel it,

sicne shell is 1.3 for starters need to cut bracket off chassis leg and reweld it upside down further along, and fill in the missign bit of metal with fresh steel. then the next question is what gearbox do you have/want, which fuel and ignition system were you hoping to use etc
