Where can I take a vacuum from for my MFA clocks on a 1.8t conversion?

Settling In
I am running a pedal box. So there is no vacuum from the end of the inlet any more. All simplification mods have been done so all I have is the 2 small 4mm outlets under the inlet. 1 to the FPR and the other to the diverted valve/boost gauge.

I must be a bit thick, as you say you need a vacuum point, but you are boosted, so surely most of the time there will be no vacuum. Perhaps you could explain it to me, seriously.

Sorry to ask this (read should know!)
I've pretty much finished putting a MK2 dash into my 20vT conversion with just the speedo to connect, what does the vacuum do Haynes doesn't say I've read that people aren't using it, do I need it?
