heard rumours, bought parts, got stuck #newbie
Ok so I recently put a 1.8 8v gti cam in my trusty little 1986 1.6 caddy which I believe to be an EW code, I don't know where but I read on a forum that to make the most of this and the bike carbs that are going on people throw out the old distributor and replace it with a k-jet one.The other day said k-jet dizzy arrived along with a new coil, ignition module and a small loom that connects them up
unfortunately non of the cables match anything under my bonnet, I have a basic knowledge of car wiring but more toward interior accessories then ignition timing, I would assume that the coil and/or ignition module need a live and earth but that's about as far as i am, there is no power in the system at all and therefore i have no spark, I can plug in the original cables that went to the
coil from the fusebox but then there is nowhere to plug that to the dizzy any more as it now has the black 3 pin plug instead of the single spade terminal on the outside of the distributor On the bright side though the day wasn't completely wasted as I did manage to cut a big hole in the roof and install a sunroof Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
