Swap for newer ecu

Hi guys I'm just wondering if it's possible just swap the original ECU on my 1.8t agu engine to a newer model so the mapping is more easier rather than chip change if anybody knows how to do it all has a link all contacts please please please get in touch cheers thanks for your time and look forward to hearing from you

as long as its an agu code it will swap over.

if you mean you want a newer wideband ecu then you'll need to redo the wirign loom and change a few sensors on the engine, add a drive by wire pedal and throttle body etc

Hey, thanks for the reply yes it's the second part I'm looking at doing. What's the best loom and ecu model to go for?  And does it have to be the full pedal or is there a sensor I can just use ? As I'm running a pedal box in my car?

its a lot of hassle for not much gain really, if you ask around you should be able to find a decent mapper who can handle the agu ecu

but if you're serious there are plenty codes to choose from, if the ecu is going to be remapped it doesnt really matter which one. you can even flash a lower spec ecu with bam firmware if you know what you are doing for example

Well the main reason I'm asking is because I normally take my car to Jbs for mapping but they are telling me they might not be able to get hold of anymore chips to remap my car with the big turbo set I'm running.
They said I might need to go to the newer ecu set up.
Do you know of what the chips are I would need or were I could get them from or even a tuner with a good reputation for mapping these engine please.

I cant help you there I'm afraid, I just joins the wires together

see how you go, worst case main thign is having a new loom made. pedal isnt hard to mount its a flat plate with some bolts, plenty threads out there on it,. often people just bolt a bracket chopped out of a mk4 to the mk1 pedal box

Sound buddy well I'll see if Jbs can get hold of anymore chips first as it will be the cheaper and fastest way but if not I'll source a loom and be in touch 😁 cheers mate.
