Anyone ever fitted a rear strut brace in a cabby? Do they run across the top of the boot, I assume they bolt on? Any info or pictures would be useful.
Cheers

Think I have seen one before run between the two top mounts. Although I'm sure I have heard before that there's not much improvement on a cabby as it already has the rear beam between the two turrets.

a standard tintop one will fit as the struts are the same, but as above I dont think it would actually add anythign as the cabrio already has a massive metal beam between the turrets anyway. front lower strut brace is all I bothered with and car handled beautifully

To be honest it's not about the handling. I plan on getting a lower front for that.
:offtopic: The rear is more a potential mod to serve a purpose

interesting, well as I say anythign that fits a tintop will fit a cabrio as the rear turrets are the same. few different ways to go about it there used to be off the shelf ones but you may struggle to find em these days.  a DIY option was to get a bit of metal pipe the right length then weld exhaust clamp D brackets either side, the hoops then go over the turrets on the outside and bolt to the brackets on the bar if that makes sense? then theres the full on option which is to get a bar profiled and weld it straight to the turrets.

if its not going to be structural and is for holding something maybe you could attach it to the parcel shelf supports instead as they're metal? they wont take much load though and wouldnt be usable for say front harness straps or to hold up a custom rear seat

I will do some research when I uncover the car this weekend. I may well buy one and try my luck, I can always return or eBay if necessary!! How strong are the clamps compared to a bolt on?

how strong does it need to be? if you're using it for harnesses I would say get it fully welded in for sure
