Me and a mate are in the process of converting my 1983 Driver to 1.8T and have hit a few hurdles. I apologise if these topics have been covered many times but I cant find the answers. I am running the Seat gearbox code EWP which I believe is AKA 02J. Does anybody know how to connect the speedo cable? Apparently I need a 1.3 cable but will it fit direct into the gearbox?

Also, is there a diagram of how to connect up the cooling system anywhere? I am using a rad with header tank and both ports are on the same side of the rad on the drivers side if that makes sense? Does the thermostat housing outlet connect to the top of rad? Also not sure how to plumb up the heater matrix if anybody can help?

I have other issues but I don't want to overload the post.

Thermostat housing goes to bottom of rad and pipe from side of head goes to top of rad, I build the hose using a couple of 90 silicon hoses and a straight joining piece inbetween. 34mm ID on both pipes if I remember correctly.  Don't know on speedo cable but have heard that the 1.3 cable is the one to use.

Not 100% on you gearbox code but my 02j and 02a i used my 1.3 driver speedo cable and unscrewed the electric speed sensor from the box.  The speedo cable then just screwed in.

On my AGU, water pipe wise i disconnected the 'y' piece from the drivers side and replaced it with a straight coupler.  Then on the rigid metal pipe that disappears into the block at the front there was a cap on an unused pipe at the bottom i fed my header to that using the stock mk1 header tank position.
