Audi 80 Handles or similar.

Hi guys, I know its old hat but nowhere I can find covers the finer details of Audi 80 Door handles or any other handles for that matter!

I dont want trigger handles anymore. Been there done that so want something good (VAG if possible)

If you have any ideas or pictures and what I may need or even if you have some kit for sale I may be interested. Im on a tight deadline here so speed is the key!

Fitting the mk3 handles is a pain, been there done that on my 90 Cabriolet.    

I had to file my doors slightly so they would mount. That is the larger hole on the back and the front one a wee bit.. It isn't a 2 screw swap……

Then make sure you use the locking pawls off of your ride, as if you are on a Cabriolet you have to use the shorter pawls or it will bind on the regulator on a CABBY.

Moving your locks over is easy.

Now the Tricky part is that the mechanism may not totally work, I know on mine, I either had to extend the Latch lever on the door or extend the pawls. The latch lever can be drilled and a extension plate Pop Riveted or screwed in place so if you want to return to the days of yesteryear it is easier.

Works either way…. Personally I will just stay with the mk1, might upgrade to a Chrome set some day….
