is it the later style blade fusebox? all you need to do is fit a kjet fuel relay to fusebox and add a pin to e/14, or use the larger spade N with an inline fuse. GSF sell them part number 935VG0090

if its the early fusebox you'll have to add your above relay above the fusebox, tap into the red/black wire on engine loom for rev signal, then use spades on fusebox for ignition and live feeds and earth to claw above fusebox:

30 - live - spade H on fusebox
15 - ignition live - spade G/3 on fusebox
31 - earth to claw above fusebox
31b - rev counter - to thin red/black wire on engien loom to coil -ve
87 - to fuel pump

if possible try to get a VW relay holder as it will clip above the fusebox, you'll need latched spades to pop into the sockets or just chop a load off the donor car. plenty vws come with the relay holders, mk1/2/3 etc

edit: just make sure the relay holder is the right one for your pump relay, ideally take the relay into the scrappy with you top check. mk3 golf with abs will tend to have the sockets you need.  you could use pre-insulated terminals without a relay holder too you would just have to take care how you mount it to the car to avoid any possibility of shorts
