Insurance
Just rang Bishop Calloway and they have put my insurance quote up to over £200 now! I got a quote over 2 months ago and it was only £85! Everything was exactly the same. I wish I had taken it out then. They said that because I had a clipper kit on it and BBS wheels, is the reason. I told them about these mods then. I suppose I didnt have to tell them about the clipper kit as these are pretty standard on the cabbies. I told them because my car is an A reg and they didnt come with the clipper in 1984. I will now look at other companies. Any ideas? Also should I mention the clipper kit and the BBS wheels? It will be good if I can get a company that is ok with mods but at about £100 per year

You must mention all mods - otherwise the insurance will be void and even worse if you have an accident and there are third parties involved in it.
Have you tried the ones advertised on this site ? They offer membership discount.

I am insured with HIC - mainly because of the engine mods I have

just comments on other post….
X 2 on what Ade says on the mods.
My GF's sister had a Saxo VTR which was modded to look like a VTS. Soemone pulled out on here and before she could claim had to pay up the difference in standard vs modded quotes at time of accident which was a couple of hundred ££
Ive done it before where i change wheels or what ever and not tell insurance, but youre screwed if you ever need to claim so now i just dont mod my cars
