You need a 5-speed box from a Polo Mk3 - designated 8P if I remember correctly

I've got a 5-speed on my Driver, and it's off a 1.4 Polo i believe.
However, it will make the car sluggish, especially 5th gear (because it was never designed to pull 5th) but it does make commuting a lot easier.
I do 65 miles a day in my Driver, and engine speed dropped (at 70mph) from 4,000rpm to 3,100rpm which increased fuel economy from roughly 30mpg to 36mpg
hope this helps :dontknow:

Slightly off topic but those fuel consumption figures sound high, for a 1.3. I get 38mpg from my 2.0 16V. It has a 5 speed but its the 1.6 box, which has a lower final drive ratio than the 1.8 box. Worth looking into?
