WATER TEMPERATURE SENSOR

Hi there,

Where is the water temperature sensor/sender located on 1992 VW MK1 1.3 Golf

If you look at your engine, where the distributor and coolant pipes are located, on the back of the block (by the spark plug lead) there is a spade connector which is located flat rather than 'end-on'. this is the temp sensor.

Thanks for your input, managed to locate it. Can the sensor be faulty as it sometimes does not give proper reading on gauge

Thats the first thing I would change! They are cheap enough to warrant the risk.
