German ebay is the best place for the manifolds although there are cars over here with a set of bike carbs. You pay less for the weber manifold, but the carbs cost more, so it really depends on your preference. Do a search for Sorg and 86c on ebay.de. Weber vergaser and Ansaugbr?cke might yield results too.

Here's an airbox:

Have a rummage through the Clubpolo forum as there's a few people on there running both types.

Try Here at the bottom of the page.

Dbilas list them too,

04.020.032
Polo, Golf, Audi 80 40mm & 45mm
0,9 - 1,3 8V

€192.76

I don't think there's any difference with the 6N 8v Polo, so this may do too.

I don't know if there's a difference between the mechanical head and the hyfro head. The description on the Dr fahrzeugtechnik site is:

f?r  Doppelvergaser  oder  Einzeldrossel-
einspritzung ? 40 & 45 mm. F?r Motoren
0.9–1.3 l 8V, z.B. Polo I,II,III

Which suggests that they are same so the Dbilas should fit. I've had emails from Dr fahrzeugtechnik. The response is fast and the english is good. It's only around ?2 more so buy from him instead.

I have no idea about the jets.

However, I know that only the later solid lifter engines are compatible ( manifold wise ) with the hydraulic headed engines.

I can report for a fact that an HK code solid lifter lump will happily accept a manifold for a MH lump or indeed a injection manifold from a GT or G40… >:)

Have a look on;

www.86c.de

That's the Polo club of Hamburg but I'm sure they link to afew sites and a forum too.  I got my manifold from there and I've also seen a few second hand ones on there too.

Best of luck :)
