Top Tip !!

Hehe, for those of you ( like myself ) running a 1100 or 1300 lump of power, and you find that it tends to cut out at tickover/junctions/in front of police cars……   :P

Check the earth wire to the carb !!!!!!!

Mine looked fine, but was in fact for decorative purposes only, replaced it today with a nice new shiny wire with new terminals.

Much better.   :D

Hi there, I'm soon to recieive a mk1 with the 1.1 in. (Fingers crossed I don't get let down! I'm going to be runnig it for a while before I have room to change engines ( Zero room! How come she can have two rooms full of clothes tho?!) :banghead: . How do you find your's for daily running? I do a few m/way miles too, do you find it pulls reasonably?

I had a 1.1 with the original engine, Great car despite the head gasket blowing after trying to drive it home from Wales (suppose the car had no passport) had 110,000 miles on it when the gasket was replaced, and continued for another 40,000 mile whilst in my hands.
I would consider keeping the original lump if it is OK, only thing was on real hot days the flashing led on the temp guage wouldn't go out!!!
