hi all my timing is out a few teeth, how do i set up the crankshaft so its at the right point? also i know hot to set up the cam shaft but my water pump seems to be stuck :S. i got this engine and was told it was running

bigger lever on the waterpump till the thing moves! it sets the belt tension so you cant do anything till that is freed off

Sorry to hijack but with regard to timing marks on a small block; on mine there are two for the crank pulley. One is a notch and one is a kind of pointer.

I presume the pointer is -5 and the notch is 0, is this correct?

Hope that makes sense.

the pointer on the right is TDC, the one on the left is BTDC, if you're standing on driver side looking straight at the crank pulley
