Thinking of doing a polo 1.4 16v conversion on my golf mk1 driver, could anyone tell me the work involved in doing the engine mountings and i would like to keep the fuel injection as i want decent fuel economy will this be difficult in the wiring side of things ?, also will my insurance go up loads with this engine in ? any advise appreciated thanks

will drop right in using old brackets, may need modification around the alternator area. if you want 5 speed you need to make a custom bracket using car half of mk1 bracket and box half from mk2/3 polo 5 speed. the one on the box now may work but not 100% on the mount layout on the newer polos.

fuel injection wise its basically same job as putting an abf in, even down to binning the crappy square coil and converting it to mk1/2 electronic ignition coil setup. see my sig for wiring diagrams

as for insurance, phone around!
