tappety 1.3 how do i stop it?

my 1.3 driver is very tappety how do i go about making them sound silent?

i know it sounds stupid… but check your oil level first as low oil levels will make the engine noisey.

if the oil levels alright you have the tappets to adjust which is a case of taking the rocker cover off, getting your feeler gauges out and setting the clearances

even once the clearances are set its still a tappety engine, because of the thin-ness of the cylinder head sidewalls and rocker cover a perfectly healthy 1.3 will still sound a bit rattly, but check your oil and set your clearances for improved running oh i found a cure for mine, drown the sound out with bike carbs...bwaaammmp!!
