Steel Water Pipe

Is it possible to still get hold of the steel water pipe that runs from the front right to round the back of the engine block new (for a 1300)?

I would have though it would be a dealer only part if its available at all - whats wrong with yours?  might have more sucess looking second hand or if it has to be new - get a place that makes custom exhausts and manifolds to knock one up for you…

i bought one for my gti about 8months ago, can't remember how much so by that i don't think it would be exspensive . i fitted it myself had a right job very fiddley and awkward trying to feed it into place. but i managed it and i ain't a mechanic. after i fitted it somebody gave me a tip… it's easier if you take off your oil filter so it might be an idea to coincide with an oil change.

The oil filter is on the other side of the engine to the water pipe on the small block engines.  Indeed the job will be far easier on a smaller motor as everything is much easier to get to (might wanna pop the inlet manifold off mind you)…

Cheers guys, its actaully for a mate. He's ordered one from VW (?40), couldn't find a pattern one.
