slight problem?

well basically on my way home from my friends my cd player cut out, looked at the battery light and it was flickering, noticed it was dull for a couple of days now but i didnt think anything of it, i got home and let it cool, then started it, it did start but souded asif the battery was really strugling to give of any power, im taking it is the altinator thats playing up? i could be wrong, please help dudes

From your description the alternator needs changing , if you have a cheap simple digital meter reading Volts DC you should see over 14.2 volts at the battery with the engine running any less and its dud . Most good local garages will check this out for you .

Or could be loose belt on alternator, but def alternator related.

i had a problem simular to this, and it was teh connections on teh aut were a bit dirty.

clean teh connections, and do teh checks above stated. then see if you can get some new brushes for the atl if teh problem is still there
