Points gap on a 1.1 golf?

anyone know the points gap for a 1.1 mk1 golf? cant find it anywhere

well, the haynes manual suggests 0.016" (0.4mm) as a guideline to start with, but it also says you need a dwell meter to adjust them properly. my advice? get electronic ignition. miles better.
