Cheers lads,

That Yellow container has freshy oil coloured but thinner substance all over it, checked the level but it doesnt seem to be overflowing

Also seems to be some of it on parts of the Engine, towards the front

By the way, the car is very hesitant through the revs when cold

Thanks again for any help

Thats the brake fluid reservoir, and you are describing brake fluid, has it been in for a service latley? or in a garage? how are the brakes?

is it ony hesitant when cold? if so check that there is warm air getting to the carb, there should be a pipe from the manifold, its missing on mine in the photo.

It had an MOT recently but no service, the brakes arent good but they do stop me, maybe a seal leak on the bottle

Only hesitant when cold yes, the piping you talk about has a whole in it, maybe tape that up?

Sounds right, amazing the difference a non-leaking one makes. You can tape it up, but these things are notorious for deteriorating and dropping off. Get some new piping from you local motor factor - cost you a couple of quid.

My driver runs like an absolute pig, it has a K&N filter instead of the black normal air filter and there are no pipes from the manifold. In my last driver i connected all the pipes up to the manifold and it was much improved, is this the reason its running so bad??? Sounds like i'll be onto Scouse again for the air filter bits! 8O

These cars suffer terribly from the Carburettor icing up when they are run on K&N style tin filters.  Refitting the original airbox should make a big difference.

I'm with a conus shaped air filter, since I changed the Solex 31 PIC 6 for Pierburg 2E3 and don't hav enough room for any other. It runs fine, for now atleast. :) I'm selling the original airbox (10eur) but there's a problem I'm from Bulgaria, and that far away from all of you
