Performance exhausts for 1.3

looked into performance exhasts (ashley magnex etc) and i cant find ones for 1.3, might be a stupid point but would polo fitments be the same? i know the manifolds the same as a mk2 polo, just when i hopefully get my twin delortoe coverstion i dont want to be running on the standard exhaust.

cheers

not sure if the polo manifold would fit but you could ask on www.clubpolo.co.uk i'm sure yeha will have an answer for this too normally does……

could get one made prob pricey but might be easier to source depends if money is an issue?

I'm using a GTi system and Polo manifold/downpipe. The Polo GT has the same bore system as the 1.6/1.8 GTi. My exhaust cost ?32 off ebay 3-4 years ago. It's got a nice noise which is slightly quieter than the induction, which I like. If you want a larger manifold, the G40 is bigger. Then you're looking at Ashley or Raceland for a manifold, without having a suitable system to attach them to. The standard big bore systems for the Golf seem to start at 2".

The Ashley 4 branch come up occaisionally on ClubPolo. Whether they are any better than the GT or G40 standard manifolds and downpipes, I don't know, but it's a lot cheaper to use the standard Polo parts. You don't gain a lot with a standard engine.

You have to cut out the cat, but that's not hard, and buy a piece of pipe to bridge the gap to the GTi system.

WOULD IT BE THE SAME FOR A 1.1??

The GT has a Lambda sensor plug, but this sits where the pipe is expanding into the cat. I cut it out and retrofitted it into my modified pipe. I needed tha Lambda as I'm using the polo injection. Does it fit the 1.1? I don't think the exhaust gasket changes between the early mechanical heads and the later hydraulic ones, so the Polo parts should be OK, but there's no feed into the head so if you need one of these, it's a case of adding an extra pipe to suit.
