hii alll

jus wondering what carb to use for best results on a 1.3 i have a pic t 6 ?is it solex or pierburg ? n e way i was just wondering on a good replacement and what else i was wondering is y do i have a pipe running dow from the carb down to the exhaust down pipe ? and what is it ?

PIC 6 is a Solex carb. You can get a weber replacement carb which is seen as the best option. Not sure if they're still available new, but do come up on ebay and in our for sale section.

Not sure about the pipe/hose. There is a pipe from the inlet manifold to the exhaust and an oil breather hose from the underside of the airbox to the back of the cylinder block.

i now have a weber 32/34 dmtl fitted to my mk1, far more responsive than the old 2e3 (i have a later '88 polo 1.3 engine). throttle valves are 32 & 34mm, so far more air flow. 2nd throttle valve opens just short of full throttle, it's worth changing the carb just for the noise you get when both valves are fully open!
