performance bits

hi i have recently bought a mk1 driver with the 1.3 lump in it i was wondering if there is any performance bits for it

i am wanting to put bike carbs on it but iam trying to find other things like

4 brach manifold
camshafts
full exhuast systems

anyone know of any places sellings these bits for the 1.3

Just done exactly the same mate, please let me know how you get on mate. Anyone know of anyone selling these parts second hand. Also, will a polo manifold fit? What year? Cheers

The Polo manifold and downpipe fit, but you have to make your own adapter to go from the end of the downpipe, which needs to have the cat removed, to whatever system you choose. I have a GTi system as it's the same diameter as the Polo system. If you want to go sightly larger, the Polo G40 manifold and downpipe also fit, but for the cost 2nd hand it's almost as cheap to get an ashley 4-2-1 manifold. If you want to go bigger still, then you could use a Polo 6N stainless manifold which is 2" bore or a Supersprint which is 2.5". Camshafts can be bought from Kent, Piper, Newman, Schrick, Catcams. I'm sure there are others. Learn a bit of German and look on Ebay.de.

Thanks very much mate, can you tell me where i could get a new manifold for a 1.3 and about how much they cost? Do you think a gt manifold would be a good option seeing as the engine will be fairly standard for now and it will be loud enough with bike carbs! Cheers

i have tried hunting for cams cat cams do alot for vw but just dont say specifically for the 1.3 gf engine . they had these
