oil sensors need help

right i blown my head gasket on my mk1 jetta which only had 1 sensor on the head i got a other engine and it has 2 sensors on it will it be ok will 1 sensor on it any help would be gd

take out one of the 2 sensors on the new engine, fit the single one from the old engine and plug it in as before, leave the other sensor disconnected but in place to plug the hole :)

thanks mate why is it different from my old 1 if its the same 1.3 engine thats odd  :dontknow: so it will be fine then

later cars had a redesigned oil warning circuit is all, unless you convert your car to later wiring theres no need to use the 2nd sensor :)

nice 1 mate other Q for you when i fitted the engine i never tagged the wires now my fan wont cut in whats the 2 spades on the side of the rad for thanks

thats the rad fan temp sensor, there should be a spare red spade wire for the fan/sensor loom somewhere close to the battery.

its pretty simple to wire up if the original loom is missing, you can run a fused perm live from battery to 1 pin of the sensor, and run the other pin to the live side on the fan.  then the 2nd pin of the fan run to he battery earth.

you wire the fan so it sucks air thru the rad into the bay, i.e. the direction of airflow when the car is moving forwards.
