NO SPARK? WHY?

right here is the situation i am sooo stuck! car was running perfect until i had to go mess around under the dash    
- coil gets warm when ignition is on (so coil works)
- HD lead carries 12 v but no spark when hold a screw driver up to it, with earthing it
- No spark inside the distributer cap (i have tried replacing it)
-car is turning over fine but nothing!
- checked the earth on the car its fine

so what could i have done under the dashboard for it to get no spark???? after working perfectley its starting to annoy me because ive tried everything?

just ask for any more details?

Might have just been a coincidence that you were under the dash. I?d just change the leads, especially in this weather. Would be my first port of call.

i had the same problem and it was the ignition switch..

(this was in a mk2, however)

found the problem the points were buggered because i left the ignition on with them shut so replaced them and its running now! cheers guys
