Need a quick reply
I seem to be missing a part from my original intake system. The arrow in the picture is the 'heat shield'. But I havent got this at all. All I have is 1 gasket and the flange.
Do I need it for the carb to be spot on or doesnt it really matter?

You have to cut the nipple off the end of the throttle cable, use the ferrule and throttle clamp that they provide(number 19 and 20 in the pic above)
I have slid the ferrule onto the end of the cable so the cable is flush with the end of the ferrule. Then do you slide the ferrule into the clamp and tighten it? It just dunt look very sercure, like it cud slide out easy?

Everythings connected up
1. Fuel pipes
2. Thottle and choke cable
3. Fuel stop solenoid
Tried starting it but no luck as battery went dead, it was turning over for about 10 seconds
Few questions
1. On the standard carb there is another electrical connection plug, its attached to the fuel stop connection wire, do I just leave this unplugged?
2. On the standard airbox you have 2 nipple underneath it, one goes to the standard carb. On the new weber it says you plug it onto the nipple on the adapter plate(lettered 'J' in the pic above). If I leave the standard airbox off, do I just put the tube on the nipple and stick a screw in the end?

stick some fuel down the carb as the bowls will be empty it will take a while to start without it. (not alot just a bit. i usually use a squirt pot)

Its got no wing, but this now gives me the motivation to get it sanded and painted, as I god damn hate sanding and can never be bothered
Now to do it a proper Yorkshire way, by nicking and bodging on a K&N off Petenmels clipper

quick trip to machine mart for a random orbital sander should speed the first sanding up a bit. then do it by hand.
