Morning start Problems

Hello all,

I need help plzzzz, i have a 1.3 manual choke carb engine from a 89 polo .. the problem im having is that it is such a dog to startup in th mornings, once its been idling for a few minutes its runs fine with the choke back in .. here is some history of whats been done so far, its had a service (plugs, leads, dizzy cap, roter arm, water, oil) .. its had the mixtures and timing sorted too … so bascially , HELPPPP ….. could it be the wiring getting brittle oand something come away ???

You could be flooding the engine with too much choke , try it with a tiny bit or none when its warm and work from there .

does it have the warm air feed on the exhaust manifold to the airbox?

It seems like it has to clear its pipes in the morning so to say, so i have to give it a full throtle on initial startup ... and it doesnt have the pipe that goes from the manifold to the airfilter ...

sounds like flooding to me. choke and thottle will overfuel it making it hard to start.

Would it still be flooded if i have to give it loads of throttle to get her going  …

pull the choke out 1 click

push the throttle 1/2 way then back off completely ( 1/2 throttle pump)

to start when fully cold
