Intermittant stalling...

Hi, i have a 1.3 driver, which i have owned for a few months now, but every now and then i will be driving along, and it will start to cough and splutter, and then cut out. It only does this intermittantly, but is getting really annoying now as im left stranded in the middle of the road. After it stalls, after a m inute or so it normally restarts ok.
Any help and advice, or to point me in the right direction, would be massively appreciated.

Guessing it's the mechanical fuel pump at fault
