I have a Haynes manual for the mk1 Golf but it only applies to big block petrol engines.
I'm looking for the ignition timing settings for my 1.1 "GG" code engine. Like how many degrees before TDC should it be set to and with vacuum hose attached or not.
And any other info that may be relevant.
Thanks

Haynes - idle speed vac disconnected 10 +/- 1 BTDC, Champion N7YCC 0.7-0.85mm or N7YC 0.7mm
Autodata- dwel angle 44-50 degrees, 10 BTDC @950rpm vac disconnected, 81 on 0.5-1.5 CO% at idle (says 1.0-0.5 but mis print?) plugs Bosch W7DC 0.7mm gap
Note when new would have been designed to run on 4-star petrol so the above will need super unleaded 97/98 octane.
