HELP!!!SPLUTTERING!!!

Hi,

I own a MK1 Golf 1.1 and have recently been having problems with spluttering, bunny hopping whenever i accelerate hrashly or go above 50mph.

I have the standard air-filter set-up.

Is this carb icing or is there another cause??

Check out this thread , sounds very simalar to the problem I had recently. The last but one post by me was the resolution to the problem - haven't had a problem since at any speed or under any throttle loading + car is very smooth…. touch wood . Still not sure what I fixed? Think it was a combination of carb icing and blocked up vacuum pipes (seriously neglected part of carb maintainence).
